Having the same nature as human bones, ivory can be substituted with our broken bones.  Should we  have a broken thigh bone owing to an accident or slipping during old age, we can undergo an ivory bone substitute and walk properly again like a normal person.
U Tin Aung an ivory sculptor produces ivory thigh bones whereas a bone specialist substitutes the ivory bone with the broken bone of the patient.  In other countries, steel is used for thigh bone substitute.  Unfortunately, patients with steel bone substitutes frequently suffer from painful and aching experiences when the weather is cold.  On the contrary, those patients with ivory thigh bone substitutes have no sufferings.  This treatment has been carried out by Dr. San Baw, a bone specialist, and U Tin Aung, an ivory sculptor.
This successful treatment and groundbreaking research of Dr. U San Baw and U Tin Aung was recognized and they were awarded by UNICEF.
